Payment & Currency FAQ

This page answers the questions we get most often about payment, currency and orders. If your question isn't here, email us and we'll reply within one business day.

Which countries are charged in US dollars?

Orders placed from the following countries are settled in US dollars (USD):

  • Argentina
  • Bahrain
  • Brazil
  • Chile
  • Costa Rica
  • Qatar
  • Saudi Arabia
  • South Korea
  • Turkey
  • Ukraine
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Uruguay

If you are ordering from one of these countries, the amount charged to your card or PayPal account is in USD. Your bank statement and your order confirmation will show US dollars.

Why are these orders charged in USD instead of my local currency?

PayPal and Apple Pay do not support every local currency. For these twelve countries, charging in the local currency caused payments to fail at checkout, so we switched to USD settlement to make sure your payment goes through the first time. Your order still ships to your address exactly as normal — only the settlement currency changed.

Will my bank charge a currency conversion fee?

Possibly. When a payment is made in USD, some banks convert it to your local currency and add a cross-border or conversion fee of their own. That fee is set by your bank, not by us, and it is not included in the price you see at checkout. If your card is issued locally, it's worth asking your bank what they charge for USD transactions before you order.

What if the price on the product page looks different from the amount charged?

Product prices are converted for display. The exact amount you pay is shown on the final checkout page in USD before you confirm the order — that figure is the one that will be charged. If you see a small difference on your statement, it is usually your bank's conversion rate applied on the day the payment was processed.

PayPal isn't showing as an option — why?

PayPal is available in most countries. If it doesn't appear for your address, use a credit or debit card instead — card payments are processed through Stripe and work in every country we ship to. You can also reply to your order confirmation email and we'll send a secure payment link.

My card was declined. What should I do?

A decline comes from your bank, not from our checkout. The most common cause is that your bank blocks cross-border online payments by default. A short call to your bank to approve the transaction usually clears it, and then you can retry the same card. If it still fails, try a different card or contact us and we'll send an alternative payment link.

Can I pay in my own currency?

For the twelve countries listed above, payment is processed in USD. We're not able to accept local-currency payment in those markets at the moment. If your card cannot make USD purchases at all, contact us before ordering and we'll find another way.
